There will come a time in our lives where we will find ourselves using a motorway, either a few times a year or even on a regular basis. Driving on the motorway is completely different from when we take driving lessons in Derby or even to day to day driving in Derby.

Most newly qualified drivers have no or little experience of fast moving traffic, so at first motorway driving can be quite nervous and even frightening for them. Some experienced drivers are also quite anxious about driving on the motorway due to either not having driven for a long time or having had a bad experience.

This is why we recommend after passing your driving test, to consider taking driving lessons on the motorway or either taking up Pass Plus.

Our motorway driving lessons encompass route planning, entrance/exit the motorway at normal junctions safely, lane discipline which includes lane changing, observations, use of mirrors, a safe following distance and the safety zone around your vehicle, awareness and reactions to other road users, emergency procedures including personal safety and adverse weather motorway driving.

All our driving instructors in Derby have vast experiences of motorway driving and by the end of the driving lessons; you will feel comfortable and confident on the motorway. Due to the content and distances involved, all motorway driving lessons are a minimum of 2 hours.

Pass Fast Driving School carries out a number of refresher courses, based around the individual needs of a pupil. These are aimed at those who have passed their driving test but haven’t driven for a long time, are nervous, or international drivers who need to become accustom to the left hand side of the road. They want the reassurance to get themselves back onto the road safely and be confident in their abilities to drive independently. Re-learning safe driving reduces the risk of accidents – to yourselves and to other road users. This is a quick way to update your driving skills.
